Neurodivergence

Your brain isn’t a problem to solve—it’s a way of being to understand and celebrate.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, exploring self-diagnosed, or have always felt a little “offbeat” in a world built for neurotypical norms—you’re not broken.

You’re likely exhausted from masking, over-functioning, and trying to make things work in systems that weren’t designed with you in mind.

Autism

Autism is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects how you process information, emotion, and relationships. It’s not a disorder—it’s a different way of being. Many autistic adults spend years masking their needs to survive in environments that misunderstand or invalidate them. Therapy can be a space to unmask, unlearn, and reconnect with your authentic self.

You might experience:

  • Sensory sensitivity or shutdowns

  • Difficulty with small talk or social norms

  • A strong need for routine or structure

  • Feeling drained after masking or socializing

  • Hyperfocus or intense special interests

  • Deep emotional experiences without having words for them

  • Grief over being misunderstood or unsupported for years

ADHD

ADHD affects attention, executive functioning, and the way you engage with time, structure, and emotional regulation. It’s often misunderstood as “lack of focus”—but really, it’s a difference in how your brain prioritizes and processes stimulation. Many ADHD adults feel like they’re constantly behind, disorganized, or too much—and carry years of shame because of it.

You might experience:

  • Difficulty with planning, time management, or task initiation

  • Intense emotions that feel hard to regulate

  • Overwhelm with “simple” daily tasks

  • Shame around procrastination or impulsivity

  • Trouble switching tasks, even when you want to

  • A pendulum of hyperfocus and distraction

  • Feeling like you’re constantly trying to catch up

How I Help

My approach is grounded in celebrating neurodivergence, not fixing it. Together, we’ll build a practice of self-accommodation—finding what works for you, not what’s expected of you.

In our work, we may:

  • Identify and unlearn internalized ableism and shame

  • Develop personalized executive function strategies

  • Explore how your nervous system processes the world (through a polyvagal-informed lens)

  • Reconnect with your natural rhythms, preferences, and sensory needs

  • Create a framework for navigating relationships, work, and rest in a way that honors your capacity

  • Process grief around not being seen, or the pressure to “pass” as neurotypical

Therapy may include mindfulness, parts work (IFS), body-based grounding, and cognitive strategies, depending on what feels accessible and effective for you. You set the pace, and we adapt tools together.

Working With Your Nervous System

Many neurodivergent people have nervous systems that are in a chronic state of overwhelm, vigilance, or collapse—especially if you’ve had to mask, over-adapt, or internalize high expectations from an early age.

Through somatic awareness, grounding, and compassionate noticing, we’ll help your system learn what it’s like to feel safe enough to just be. This work is not about becoming someone else—it’s about becoming more yourself with less friction and more support.

You don’t have to keep burning yourself out to fit into a mold. Therapy can be a place to unmask, exhale, and build a life that actually works for your brain and body.
